Hello & welcome to My web site ..... My name is michelle & I live in the City of Coventry in the West Midland's with my partner steve , our Rotties Kim & Diesel , an african Grey Parrot called Jerry & of course ..... my lovely Persian cats.
The GCCF Registered Prefix of 'ABRAPHANPY' pronounced : ' abra - fan - P '
is owned soley by myself : Miss Michelle Reid & therefor only kittens bred by my myself will carry this prefix.
...it was My youngest son who came up with the name , being his favourite Pokemon characters 'Abra' & 'Phanpy'.... So blame him !!

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
I was initially owned by - a cream self male persian named Custard in 1980
( who we later discovered was an exotic Varient :-)
& in 1985 he was joined by a gorjous black smoke male named 'smokie',
They were kept soley as neutered family pets .
I was devistated when Custard was stolen from our front garden by a passer by who picked him up and walked off with him whilst i was out shopping one day &
despite him being micro-chipped he was sadley never returned.....
eventually smokie died at the ripe old age of 14...
Our home was not the same without our persian boys, So I started trawling the net for a new kitten... and I purchased my first 'Active registered' cat in 2002 who I showed & having won the open class I was well & truley hooked !!

OUR CATS
Our girls live mostly indoors as pets and our young males to date have also
lived indoors until they are adult or start to work or spray & then they are moved outside into their own pupose built accomodation.
We find our boys are more affectionate than the girls most of the time
as gilrs can be tempremental , much like people but they are still very effectionate and cuddly !
But all in all Persians are really friendly , sociable , loving and affectionate towards 'their humans'.

PKD
We became PKD aware in 2003.
And started having all our breeding cats screened for pkd during 2004
under the FAB screening programme .
Our testing at that time had been carried out by The FAB approved altrasonographer
Francis Barr at The feline centre at Bristol Universtiy, Langford House Bristol.
At the time of writting this the test was currently the only *'acurate' method of testing for kidney cysts & we trust the FAB tests *99.9% to give correct results.
To further the research into PKD by the FAB we elected to have our cats bloods taken for futher testing & research purposes, in the hope that one day a blood test/dna test will become available for PKD instead of the current scanning.
Update: a DNA test is now available for PKD1 :-)
All our future tests will be done via this method as it is
100% accurate for this type of PKD.
*Please note other types of PKD exsist
which are not currently detected via PKD gene testing.

We always look forward to a happy future in this
'most ridiculous but rewarding hoby'
